A high regard for things of this world always signals a lowering regard for God.
Beth Moore

You are peace, You are peace
When my fear is crippling…
Oh, I’m running to Your arms,
I’m running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign…
You are here, You are here
In Your presence I’m made whole
You are God, You are God
Of all else I’m letting go…
I’m running to Your arms…
Forever Reign by Hillsong

Ok so I have been lacking in blogging, but there is no better time than the present to start up again. This past week, Kenny and I flew to San Diego, CA to meet up with our boss Dave and his intern Mathew. (Together we make up the entirety of Cadence Children’s Ministry) We spent the first half of the week at the Children’s Pastor Conference, an event put on by the International Network of Children’s Minister’s. This conference was just what I needed to be encouraged and refreshed! I learned lots of great new things and recalled lots of things I had forgotten! Most of all I was reminded why we are doing what we are doing, to share Christ with kids of Fort Hood and bring him glory! We were blessed by many great speakers, music by go fish, denver and the mile high orchestra, and yancy, AND I got to meet the creator of Veggie Tales, Phil Vischer!!! It was a great start to the week!
Wednesday afternoon I got a car and left the guys at the conference (which ended Thursday) and headed to Pasadena to meet up with Kristin, a former roommate, to assist in her wedding weekend!!! It was fun weekend of catching up with friends and celebrating the marriage of two wonderful people! Sunday, Emily (another roommate) and I headed to the airport bright and early for her flight home, after dropping her off I had some down time before church so I took a stroll along the boardwalk of Redondo Beach, it was a beautiful way to start my morning!! I met up with the guys at Seacoast Church a little later where we worshiped with the congregation there. We had the opportunity to thank the church for the financial support they raised for us through their Christmas Program. It was great to meet these people face to face and see the excitement on their faces as we talked about our ministry. We had lunch with Pastor Danny and his family, sharing more about what God is doing in our lives, the lives of the kids and the lives of their families at Fort Hood.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing, hanging out at the beach, eating dinner at the famous Brat Brothers, and driving around looking for and finding the Hollywood sign!!
This morning Kenny and I headed out bright and early to catch our plane and arrived safely home this afternoon! We had a wonderful week, I am so thankful for the opportunity we had to go to California. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement as we travelled!

Here before Your alter
I am letting go of all I’ve held
Of every motive, every burden
Everything that’s of myself

This just makes me happy and I wanted to share it. :)

Well after all our travels and visitors, we are finally home and settling back into the swing of things. We had a great trip, visiting family and friends, getting to see the sights, making new acquaintances, and all in all had a wonderful time!
School has started and so have many of our activities for kids. Here is our schedule as of now:
Sundays - We help with our Chapel’s Awana, Kenny is a T&T small group leader, and I co-lead the Cubbies with our friend Shelley
Tuesdays - Kenny facilitates a home school group while the moms and I attend Bible Study.
Thursdays - Kenny teaches a 10-14 year old class on Character called Youth Connection and I teach a class for 3-5 year olds called Kids Connection. Both of these classes coincide with Community Connection. C.C. is a chapel sponsored event, where there is a free dinner followed by breakout classes for all ages.
We have after school clubs scheduled to begin in October and I’m sure that there will be other activities that come up as the year continues. We are looking forward to another year here at Fort Hood and seeing what God has in store.
In our spare time Kenny has been gearing up for hunting season and helping a farmer rid his farm of hogs. I have a feeling we will be having a lot of barbecues this fall. As for me, I have enjoyed curling up and getting lost in a good book. All in all we keep busy with our Texas family, friends and work, and we love every second of it!
